Wine Tasting: The Delicious and Outstanding Wines from Foxen Winery

Our next Wine Affinity Group Wine Dinner is a very special one that will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM in the private dining room at Rodrigo’s Mexican Grill in Tustin.

We are excited and pleased to be featuring "The Delicious and Outstanding Wines from Foxen Winery."

Foxen is one of the most renowned and highly-regarded wineries in the Santa Barbara County and the Santa Maria Valley AVAs.

The winery was started by good friends Dick Dore and Bill Wathen about 40 years ago. The first wines released were from the 1985 vintage.

Foxen is named after Bill Dore's great-great grandfather, William Benjamin Foxen, an English sea captain who purchased 9,000 acres of land in 1837. The ranch originally encompassed most of what is now known as Foxen Canyon.

Currently, Bill's family still owns 2,000 acres that include various vineyards that produce grapes used in a number of their wines.

Our tasting will be led by Kaitlin Armstrong who is Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Foxen. Kaitlin's mom happens to be married to Bill, so she will be with us representing both the winery as well as the winery owners.

Kaitlin will share about Foxen's history, production and the wines themselves. Brian Ruttencutter, our in-house "somm," will serve as master of ceremonies for the event.

The delicious array of wines will feature Burgundian, Rhone, Loire and Bordeaux grape varietals and will be perfectly paired with an accompanying gourmet dinner prepared by Chef Louise Solzman of Chef Louise's Catering from the Long Beach Area.

Please join us to experience these stunning wines and a delicious five-course dinner. It's guaranteed to be a night filled with great wine, delicious food, excellent networking and a lot of fun!
